Previously, Xiaomi’s YU7 Max completed a 24-hour endurance test in June this year, achieving a final distance of 3,944 km.
On August 10, XPeng Chairman He Xiaopeng announced on Weibo that the new XPeng P7 will undergo a 24-hour endurance test to evaluate its comprehensive performance under extreme conditions.

The test will take place at the high-speed ring test track, led by XPeng’s Tri-Electric Systems head, “XP-Jacky.” The vehicle will face multiple challenges during continuous high-intensity operation, including range, fast charging, thermal management, and durability.
The idea for this endurance test originated from a discussion between He Xiaopeng and Xiaomi Chairman Lei Jun. Lei Jun previously proposed that a 24-hour high-intensity endurance test should become the industry standard for high-performance pure electric vehicles and first completed this challenge with the Xiaomi YU7 Max in June.

During that test, the YU7 Max maintained speeds above 210 km/h for 24 hours (including charging time), covered 3,944 km, completed 30 fast charges with each charging session lasting about 10 to 12 minutes, and ultimately received certification from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC).
The previous record was held by the Mercedes-Benz pure electric CLA prototype and the Porsche Taycan prototype. Lei Jun summarized the four main challenges of the test as continuous high-speed endurance, long single-charge range, fast charging efficiency, and thermal management.
The new XPeng P7 is confident in its hardware configuration. It comes standard with a full-domain 800V high-voltage platform and a 5C ultra-fast AI battery, capable of adding 525 km of range within 10 minutes. Its maximum range reaches 820 km, energy consumption is 12 kWh per 100 km, 0–100 km/h acceleration is in the 3-second range, and top speed is 230 km/h.

The new P7 has already made its debut and will officially launch this month.
As of press time, XPeng’s Hong Kong-listed shares rose over 7%, hitting a five-month high; the cumulative gain this month has reached 19%. The capital market continues to closely watch the new P7’s market performance.
