Whether Dreame can become a dark horse in the ultra-luxury electric vehicle market remains to be seen.
On September 10, Hao Yu, the founder of Dreame Technology, posted three renderings on his social media feed and announced that Dreame Auto would debut and exhibit a prototype at the U.S. CES by the end of the year.
This marks Dreame Technology’s first public showcase of its product design philosophy since officially announcing its entry into the automotive industry on August 28.

According to online sources, the core members of Dreame Auto’s design team hail from the Royal College of Art, sharing the same academic background as the current design director of Bugatti. The exposed renderings reveal that Dreame Auto demonstrates both the ambition and capability to rival Bugatti in terms of design.

Based on the renderings, Dreame’s first model is positioned as a four-door, dual-row electric coupe. The overall design resembles Bugatti’s classic wedge-shaped body, featuring smooth lines and a low, sharp front end that evokes an innate sense of speed.
The front fascia showcases unique, sleek headlights and a honeycomb grille design that ensures sufficient airflow while enhancing the front end’s sophistication. The side profile adopts a bold C-shaped design language, with slightly rising character lines and large-sized wheels creating a strong sporty atmosphere.
The interior follows a minimalist style, equipped with a large integrated display on the dashboard that consolidates various vehicle control functions and information. Additionally, the door panels and center console feature numerous functional touch controls, reflecting Dreame Auto’s pursuit of luxury and technology.

Dreame Technology’s entry into the automotive industry is not sudden. In fact, founder Hao Yu’s dream of building cars dates back twelve years.
In 2013, Hao Yu drafted a dozens-page feasibility report on car manufacturing but concluded that “automotive manufacturing is not suitable as a starting point for first-time entrepreneurship; experience needs to be accumulated in other fields first.”
Dreame Technology has deep expertise in high-speed digital motors, AI algorithms, and sensor control. By the end of 2024, the company had filed 6,379 patents globally, with 3,155 authorized.

When Xiaomi announced its car manufacturing plans in 2021, Dreame had already secretly formed a 200-person automotive team. By 2024, as industry competition intensified, the team expanded to nearly 1,000 members.
It is reported that just ten days after Dreame Technology announced its automotive venture, Hao Yu led a core team to Germany to select a site for Dreame Auto’s factory. According to sources, Dreame Auto will collaborate with BNP Paribas to build the German factory.
This strategic move will allow Dreame Auto to tap into the local supply network for core automotive components, significantly shortening R&D cycles and reducing logistics costs while efficiently expanding its coverage across Europe.
According to the plan, Dreame Technology’s first mass-produced vehicle is set to debut in 2027. Whether Dreame can become a dark horse in the ultra-luxury electric vehicle market remains to be seen.
