Firefly Aster 1.2.0 Released with 36 Smart System Updates

Version 1.2.0 brings 36 updates to the smart system experience, covering four major areas: intelligent assisted driving, smart cockpit, the intelligent companion Lumo, and overall vehicle experience.

On September 25, Firefly officially released the Aster Smart System version 1.2.0.

Additionally, there are significant upgrades to the functions available via the APP for vehicle control.

Intelligent Assisted Driving

Added a “Free Park” function. This feature allows users to select the parking position and adjust the parking angle without relying on traditional parking guide lines. It also offers personalized functions like switching between head-in/tail-in parking and intelligent recommendations. The “Free Park” interface also newly displays the distance between the vehicle and obstacles, helping users judge the surroundings more accurately.

Added a “Rear Collision Warning” function. When the system detects a vehicle approaching rapidly from behind with a risk of collision, it will immediately alert the user visually and audibly, prompting them to take proactive measures to avoid a potential hazard.

Furthermore, this update includes optimizations to a series of features, including: parking space recognition capability, response to dynamic objects, parking strategy and efficiency, parking in narrow spaces, the activation method/interaction experience for intelligent assisted parking, and remote parking.

Smart Cockpit

As a key focus of the Aster 1.2.0 upgrade, the smart cockpit adds a significant number of new functions to enhance quick control convenience and interactive entertainment, including :

  • Wallpaper Ambient Light Ring
  • Added popular ecosystem apps like Bilibili, NetEase Cloud Music, and Kugou Music 
  • Energy Consumption Display Ambient Light Ring
  • Instrument Cluster Energy Consumption Card
  • Instrument Cluster Adaptive Energy Recovery Display
  • Instrument Cluster Battery Percentage Display
  • Blind Operation Prompt Tone
  • “Acoustic Wave” sound effect mode

Additionally, the new version includes numerous upgrades and optimizations in interface design, sound effect experience, and infotainment system interaction design.

Intelligent Companion Lumo

To make interactions with the intelligent companion Lumo more engaging, Aster 1.2.0 adds Lumo feedback expressions to increase interactive fun.

Furthermore, to make user interaction with the voice assistant more convenient, new functions have been added, including vehicle open/close operations, user manual queries, media app on/off control, media function operations, NetEase Cloud Music app commands, Lumo interaction, energy consumption inquiries, and navigation and trip planning.

Overall Vehicle Experience

Aster 1.2.0 adds an “Exit Vehicle Without Powering Off” mode. Users can activate this mode when temporarily leaving the vehicle, allowing the lights, air conditioning, and wipers to maintain their pre-exit settings, ensuring a comfortable cabin environment upon return.

This OTA upgrade is another major system update for Firefly, following the release of version 1.1.0 on August 8. As of September 1, the Firefly brand had cumulatively delivered 14,555 new vehicles. In August alone, it delivered 4,346 new vehicles, an increase of 84% compared to the previous month.
