It is expected that by January 2026, battery deployment will cover all third- and fourth-generation battery swap stations, ensuring travel support for users.
On September 29, NIO officially launched the “Exclusive Charging Care Plan for New ES8 Users.”
NIO stated that to support more new ES8 users in receiving their vehicles sooner, batteries allocated for the new ES8 will be prioritized for vehicle production and delivery. This will temporarily impact the battery supply at some battery swap stations in the short term.
According to the plan’s rules, NIO will distribute a RMB 400 ($56) charging subsidy within 7 working days after vehicle delivery to new ES8 users who take delivery on or before December 31, 2025.
The company also mentioned that by January 2026, battery deployment is expected to cover all third- and fourth-generation battery swap stations, ensuring support for users’ travel needs.

Also today, NIO provided an update on the deployment progress of its “County-wide Battery Swap Service.”
So far, NIO has achieved county-wide coverage in Beijing, Shanghai, Macau, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Tianjin, Chongqing, and Hainan. Battery swap stations now serve over 1,200 counties and districts across China, extending as far east as Jiamusi in Heilongjiang, as far south as Sanya in Hainan, as far west as Karamay in Xinjiang, and as far north as Qiqihar in Heilongjiang.
NIO stated that from now until October 12, 2025, NIO and Ledao users can also enjoy free battery swaps along the G318 Sichuan-Tibet Line.

As of the time of writing, NIO Energy operates a total of 8,272 charging and battery swap stations, including 3,513 battery swap stations (1,002 of which are along highways) and 4,759 charging stations.
