Beijing Hyundai EO Starts Pre-orders, Priced from $18,000 USD

Beijing Hyundai plans to launch 20 new models in the next 4-5 years, including 6 new energy vehicles tailored for China by 2027.

On October 16, the Beijing Hyundai EO officially entered mass production and commenced pre-sales. The new model is available in three variants, with pre-sale prices ranging from RMB 130,000 to 150,000 ($18,000–$21,000). The official market launch is scheduled for October 29.

The EO measures 4615/1875/1675 (1698) mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2750 mm. Built on the global E-GMP dedicated electric vehicle platform, it is positioned as a pure electric compact SUV.

For its exterior, the EO adopts a new electric design language. The front features a closed grille paired with a star-ring headlight cluster, emphasizing its electric identity. Additionally, the embedded “Lucky 8” crystal cube daytime running lights incorporate elements of Chinese culture.

The side profile showcases clean and flowing lines, complemented by hidden door handles and a floating D-pillar design. The rear features through-type taillights that echo the front design, with pixel-inspired details inside the light clusters enhancing the technological feel.

Inside, the EO embraces a minimalist design philosophy. A 27-inch ultra-slim dual screen is standard across all variants, supporting 4K resolution and 1000 cd/m² brightness. The infotainment system is powered by the Qualcomm 8295 chip, integrating voice recognition and large language model capabilities, and supports applications like music, navigation, and games.

The vehicle is also equipped with a HUD (Head-Up Display), BOSE audio system, and double-layer sound-insulating glass, enhancing the driving and riding experience. For storage, the new model offers 29 storage spaces, a slide-cover privacy box, and bidirectional expandable cup holders, fully considering daily convenience.

In terms of powertrain, the new model offers both a single-motor front-wheel drive and a dual-motor all-wheel drive version, alongside two battery capacity options: 64.2 kWh and 88.1 kWh. The manufacturer states that the vehicle supports charging from 30% to 80% in just 27 minutes.

Beijing Hyundai has designated 2025 as its “First Year of New Energy,” and the launch of the EO marks the brand’s comprehensive shift toward electrification.

According to the plan, Beijing Hyundai aims to introduce 20 new models within the next 4-5 years; by 2027, the company plans to launch 6 new energy vehicle models specifically optimized for the Chinese market.
