China’s EV Charging Facilities Hit 19.32 Million by Nov 2025, Up 52% YoY

By the end of November, China’s public charging facilities grew to 4.625 million units, while private charging facilities reached 14.697 million units.

On December 23, China’s National Energy Administration released the data on national electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities for November.

The national charging infrastructure monitoring platform reported that public charging facilities (charging guns) totaled 4.625 million, while private charging facilities (charging guns) reached 14.697 million.

In November alone, 677,000 new charging units were added. Of which, public charging stations grew by 92,000 units, while private charging stations saw an increase of 585,000 units.

Statistics show that by the end of November, China’s public charging infrastructure had grown by 36% year-on-year, totaling 4.625 million units.

In contrast, private charging infrastructure, which accounts for over 76% of the total, reached 14.697 million units, with a 57.8% annual growth.

Regarding power configuration, the total rated power of public charging stations has reached 210 million kW, with an average power per station of approximately 45.34 kW. The installed capacity of private charging facilities is about 129 million kVA.

Automakers have also played a crucial role in the expansion of the charging network. As of today, NIO has built 4,846 charging stations across China, with a total of 27,600 charging piles.

By December, Tesla had established over 2,400 Supercharger stations in mainland China, with more than 12,000 Supercharger piles and over 640 destination charging stations, totaling more than 2,400 destination charging piles. Tesla’s network now covers all provincial capitals and municipalities in China.

The construction of charging facilities has progressed in tandem with the continued growth of the new energy vehicle (NEV) market.

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, sales of NEVs accounted for 53.2% of total car sales in November.

In November, China’s NEV production and sales reached 1.88 million and 1.823 million units, respectively, marking year-on-year increases of 20% and 20.6%.

For the first 11 months of 2025, total production and sales of NEVs reached 14.907 million and 14.78 million units, respectively, reflecting year-on-year growth of 31.4% and 31.2%.
