- NIO hit 130,000 third‑generation ES8 deliveries in 305 days, adding 10,000 units in about a month.
- ES8 led large SUV retail sales with 78,618 units H1 2026, dominating premium EV segment above RMB 400,000.
- NIO’s premium SUV lineup drove 60.5% H1 delivery growth and boosted average selling price to RMB 443,000.
NIO announced on July 22 that the 130,000th third-generation ES8 was delivered in Jinhua, Zhejiang province. The delivered vehicle was the ES8 five-seat variant.
Since its market launch in late September 2025, the third-generation ES8 has reached the milestone in 305 days.

Previously, the 120,000th ES8 was delivered on June 22, meaning the model added another 10,000 deliveries in roughly one month.
The delivery trajectory this year shows that ES8 momentum has continued to accelerate, maintaining an average monthly delivery pace of around 10,000 units.
The strong delivery performance has made ES8 one of the key models supporting NIO’s sales growth.
According to data from CPCA, NIO ES8 recorded retail sales of 78,618 units in the first half of 2026, ranking first among large SUVs and models priced above RMB 400,000 ($59,120).
ES8’s growth also reflects changes in the premium new energy SUV market structure.

Data shows that sales of large three-row pure electric SUVs ranked first among all powertrain categories in June and have surpassed extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) for 10 consecutive months.
In the large five-seat SUV segment, sales of pure electric models nearly tripled compared with April, surpassing EREVs for the first time and continuing to outperform gasoline-powered models.
During the first half of 2026, cumulative sales of large three-row pure electric SUVs exceeded 185,400 units, ranking first among all powertrain categories.
Sales of large three-row EREVs were only about 60% of pure electric models.
Across the broader market, pure electric vehicles are increasingly becoming a major growth driver in new energy vehicle competition.
In June 2026, retail sales of gasoline vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and extended-range vehicles all declined year on year.

EREV sales fell 31.9%, while pure electric vehicles were the only powertrain category to maintain growth.
For NIO, ES8’s performance comes not only from the competitiveness of the model itself but also from the company’s broader product strategy in the premium pure electric SUV segment.
The lineup currently includes ES8, ES9, as well as ONVO L80 and L90, covering the large SUV market.
In the first half of 2026, the NIO brand delivered 119,488 vehicles, up 60.5% year on year. Growth from premium SUV models including ES8 and ES9 helped push NIO’s average transaction price higher.
According to NIO Vice President Ma Lin’s previous disclosure, the average selling price of the NIO brand reached RMB 443,000 ($65,250) in June 2026, exceeding several traditional luxury automakers.
