- Chery Group sold 280,128 vehicles in August, up 15.4% year‑over‑year.
- NEV sales surged to 120,909 in August, up 69.8% and driving global NEV export growth.
- Exports hit 1.34 million through August, making Chery the first Chinese automaker to surpass 7 million cumulative exports.
On Sept. 1, Chery Group released its August 2026 sales figures, reporting total vehicle sales of 280,128 units, up 15.4% YoY.
New-energy vehicle (NEV) sales reached 120,909 units, up 69.8% YoY, exceeding 100,000 units for the fifth consecutive month.

In the first eight months of 2026, Chery Group sold 1,914,481 vehicles, up 10.8% YoY. NEV sales reached 725,214 units, up 46.2%.
Exports grew considerably faster, with Chery shipping 1,343,334 vehicles overseas in the first eight months, up 68.1% YoY and accounting for roughly 70% of the group’s total sales.
As its overseas business expanded, Chery became the first Chinese automaker to surpass 7 million cumulative vehicle exports.
As of the end of August, Chery had more than 20.44 million users worldwide, including more than 7.18 million overseas users.
NEV growth has been particularly strong in overseas markets. Chery’s NEV exports approached 70,000 units in August, up 124.2% YoY.
From January to July, Chery sold more than 208,000 vehicles across 24 European countries, up 201% YoY. NEVs accounted for more than 101,000 units, more than quadrupling from a year earlier.

In the UK, the Jaecoo 7, Jaecoo 5 and Omoda 5 have all ranked among the country’s 10 best-selling models in individual months this year.
In China, Chery Group currently operates brands including Chery, Exeed, Jetour, iCAR and Luxeed.
The product lineup spans internal-combustion engines, battery-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and range-extended electric vehicles.
The group said Chery’s domestic NEV penetration rate has remained above 60% for several consecutive months.
NEVs are increasingly becoming the main source of incremental sales across Chery’s lineup. At the same time, the company is using different brands to expand into the mid- to high-end segments.
The Luxeed V9 has surpassed 20,000 cumulative deliveries, setting a new record for the fastest delivery pace among new-energy MPVs priced around RMB 500,000 ($74,400).
Freelander 8, the first production model under Chery Jaguar Land Rover’s Freelander brand, began pre-sales on Aug. 14 and is scheduled for its global launch on Sept. 3.

The Fulwin T7 generated more than 23,000 orders within 24 hours of its launch, while the new QQ has recorded monthly sales above 10,000 units for five consecutive months.
The two models target the battery-electric SUV and small-car segments, respectively.
Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. also maintained sales growth. The company sold 262,990 vehicles in August, up 14% YoY, bringing its January-August sales to 1,799,942 units, up 10.8%.
Beyond automobiles, Chery is also expanding into robotics. Its Robotics unit AiMOGA surpassed 2,000 cumulative deliveries worldwide in July.
Mobo, a home-oriented robot developed by the company, made its public debut at the World Robot Conference in August.
AiMOGA’ products currently cover applications including law enforcement, healthcare, public services and home companionship, with deployments in more than 60 countries and regions.
