On April 29, NIO’s third brand, firefly, began the first batch of deliveries to its owners. Photos of the new vehicles have already been shared on social media platforms by some of the first owners.

This model, positioned as a “global high-end electric small car,” was launched on April 19. It offers two versions: the Zizai Edition and the Faguang Edition, priced at 119,800 yuan and 125,800 yuan, respectively. In August, NIO will announce a BaaS (Battery as a Service) battery leasing plan, which is expected to further lower the vehicle purchase threshold.
NIO’s founder, William Li, previously said in a media Q&A session that, although the firefly is priced lower than the Smart and MINI, it can still maintain a certain level of profitability.

As a vehicle aimed at the global market, firefly’s overseas launch plan is also on the agenda. It is scheduled to enter 16 markets in South America, the Middle East, and Europe in the second half of 2025.
Currently, Norway and the Netherlands have announced the starting prices for the firefly, which are 279,900 Norwegian kroner (about 23,600 euros) and 29,900 euros, respectively. Pre-orders will begin at the end of April or early May, with the first deliveries scheduled for August.
