Following its global debut on June 11, XPeng has announced the G7 will officially hit the market next week—an unusually swift rollout underscoring the company’s confidence in this model.
On the scene of the global debut, He Xiaopeng, CEO of XPeng, illustrated the technological details including its self-developed Triple Turing AI Chips which could delivered more than 2200 TOPS total compute power—surpassing NVIDIA’s Thor-U (700 TOPS per chip). This compute power positions it firmly in the top tier of intelligent driving systems.
On top of the chips, notably, XPeng is notably evolving its ADAS toward more human-like cognition. The XPeng G7 features VLA+VLM models enabling landmark/ad billboard recognition and destination prediction without precise coordinates. Official claim: “Finds destinations even without specific input.” This may sound ambitious, but it signals one thing: the system prioritizes comprehension capabilities over mere rule execution.”
Moreover, as XPeng’s first truly all-new model this year, the G7 boasts equally premium-grade hardware. Standard across all trims are an 800V high-voltage SiC platform and 5C ultra-fast charging batteries, enabling a 702km CLTC range—a highly competitive endurance in the ¥200,000-300,000 (~$27,800-41,700) price segment.
Dubbed a “Model Y challenger”, the G7 may intensify competition more for local EV rivals than Tesla. Its entry will likely escalate China’s premium electric SUV war in H2 2025.
