Built on BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid platform, combining a 1.5L engine and electric motor, with a maximum combined range of 2,000 km.
On July 4, BYD officially launched the Seal 06 DM-i Wagon variant.
The new model is available in three trims, priced between RMB 109,800 and 129,800 ($15,370 – $18,170). Compared to the Seal 06 DM-i sedan’s starting price of RMB 99,800 ($13,970), the wagon version costs just RMB 10,000 ($1,400) more.

The Seal 06 DM-i Wagon measures 4,850 × 1,890 × 1,505 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,790 mm. Overall, it’s larger than the sedan variant, although the wheelbase remains the same.

Design-wise, the wagon inherits BYD’s Ocean Aesthetics, sharing the sedan’s slim headlights and sporty front bumper. The most notable evolution is at the rear, where dual waistlines stretch from the front to the back, and a hidden D-pillar is paired with a practical rear spoiler.
The Seal 06 DM-i Wagon will be offered in four exterior colors: Warm Smoky Tea, Atlantis Gray, Snowfield White, and Deep Sea Green.

Thanks to its larger body, the wagon offers enhanced cabin space. The trunk boasts a standard capacity of 650 liters, significantly larger than the sedan’s 550 liters. With the rear seats folded down, cargo space expands to 1,535 liters.

Inside, all trims come standard with a built-in car fridge capable of both cooling and warming. Other notable features include a column-mounted shifter, heated and ventilated front seats, a 15.6-inch floating central screen, and a large panoramic sunroof—offering a balance of practicality and comfort.
The Seal 06 DM-i Wagon, as a key new product within BYD’s Ocean lineup, incorporates the brand’s cutting-edge technologies. Powered by BYD’s fifth-generation DM system, it combines a 1.5L engine producing 74 kW with electric motors available in 120 kW and 160 kW variants, delivering a total range of up to 2,000 km. All models come standard with the “God’s Eye C” intelligent driver-assistance system powered by the DiPilot 100 system, while higher trims are equipped with the advanced DiSus-C system.
The Seal 06 DM-i Wagon fills BYD’s previous gap in the hybrid wagon segment. As camping culture and family road trips grow in popularity in China, practical and fuel-efficient wagons are poised for market opportunities. Whether the Seal 06 DM-i Wagon can break through the segment’s pricing barriers and achieve both popularity and strong sales remains to be seen.
