Lynk & Co unveils two new models featuring new gold and silver exterior colors, standard LiDAR, and NVIDIA Thor chips.
On July 16, the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P and 08 EM-P LiDAR versions were officially revealed in the latest batch of announcements from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
Both models now feature a rooftop-mounted LiDAR module, which works in tandem with the existing millimeter-wave radar, ultrasonic sensors, and high-definition cameras to upgrade their intelligent driver assistance systems.
The most notable highlight of this filing is that all variants come standard with a LiDAR system, paired with NVIDIA’s Thor-U chip delivering top-tier 700 TOPS computing power. This hardware combination supports the G-Pilot H7 ADS solution, enabling the vehicle to perform high-speed NOA functions such as automated lane changes and ramp handling.
In terms of design, both models continue the The Next Day family design language, with slight enhancements and refinements.
The Lynk & Co 07 EM-P LiDAR version measures 4835/1900/1480 mm—8 mm longer than the current model—and introduces a new “Aurora Silver” paint option. The front fascia features a new three-dimensional vented design with a trapezoidal grille, adding a sportier look.
The Lynk & Co 08 EM-P LiDAR version measures 4825/1915/1660 mm with a 2848 mm wheelbase. It debuts a new “Glazed Gold” metallic finish. At the rear, the car features a pixelated full-width tail light, complemented by a small spoiler and wide-body styling for enhanced visual appeal.
For powertrain, both vehicles are equipped with a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system. The engine delivers a maximum output of 120 kW, paired with a 3-speed DHT transmission.
The CLTC all-electric range for the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P is 126 km, while the 08 EM-P offers three range options—160 km, 210 km, and 230 km—depending on battery size.
This morning, Lynk & Co officially announced that both LiDAR-equipped versions of the 07 EM-P and 08 EM-P will make their public debut in late September.
Given that the current 07 EM-P starts at ¥159,800 ($22,370) and the 08 EM-P at ¥185,800 ($26,010), the LiDAR versions are expected to be priced between ¥200,000 and ¥250,000 ($28,000–$35,000). Meanwhile, the existing non-LiDAR versions will remain on sale to offer consumers a more affordable entry point and highlight the models’ value-for-money proposition.
This year marks a pivotal phase for Lynk & Co’s expansion in the NEV sector. As rivals such as the BYD Seal 07 DM-i and Hongqi H5 PHEV intensify competition, whether the LiDAR-equipped Lynk & Co duo can emerge as breakout stars in the ¥200,000 ($28,000)-level NEV market remains to be seen.
