With surging sales and a return to profitability, Leapmotor has earned a spot on the Fortune China 500 for the first time, ranking No. 423.

According to its 2024 annual report, Leapmotor generated RMB 32.15 billion in revenue, marking a 92% year-on-year increase. In a slowing automotive market, such performance stands out.

More importantly, Leapmotor achieved positive net profit in Q4 2024, becoming the second EV startup in China to report a profitable quarter.

During the reporting period, the company delivered nearly 300,000 vehicles globally, ranking 11th among all NEV brands worldwide.

Founded in 2015, Leapmotor was initially a lesser-known player among China’s EV startups, with limited brand awareness, fundraising capability, and early market momentum.

However, by sticking to its strategy of full-stack in-house R&D, Leapmotor now self-develops and manufactures components accounting for over 60% of total vehicle cost. Core technologies like battery systems, electric motors, intelligent driving, and E/E architecture are all developed internally and rolled out across its product lines.

Leapmotor’s current portfolio includes models like the T03, C10, C11, C01, and B10 — covering everything from compact A00-class EVs to large-size SUVs, with both BEV and EREV powertrains.

In 2024, Leapmotor launched its new B Series targeting global markets. The first model, the B10, has exceeded 10,000 monthly deliveries for two consecutive months. The B01, its first global sedan, will be officially unveiled on July 24.

The overseas market is now a strategic priority.

In 2023, Stellantis acquired a stake in Leapmotor. By May 2024, the two sides jointly established Leapmotor International to handle global sales, exports, and localized operations. The company has since entered more than 30 markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. According to official data, Leapmotor was the top NEV exporter among China’s new EV brands in H1 2025.

As of mid-2025, Leapmotor’s cumulative deliveries have exceeded 220,000 units this year. However, market competition remains intense, price wars are ongoing, and challenges in overseas expansion and brand-building still lie ahead.

As of the end of June this year, the cumulative deliveries of LeapMotor have exceeded 220,000 vehicles.

Leapmotor’s inclusion in the Fortune China 500 is largely a result of years of investment in proprietary technology and cost efficiency. It also signals a shift: tech-driven EV startups are beginning to move beyond early-stage growing pains and onto more sustainable business paths.
