All-New LUXEED R7 and S7 Priced from $36,120, Over 10,000 Preorders in One Hour

The all-new S7 sedan and R7 SUV are the first models launched by the LUXEED brand after entering its 2.0 strategic phase, starting at ¥258,000 ($36,120) and ¥268,000 ($37,520) respectively.

On August 8, LUXEED officially opened pre-orders for the new R7 SUV and new S7 sedan. The R7 starts at ¥268,000 ($37,520), while the S7 starts at ¥258,000 ($36,120).

As the first new vehicles following the formal launch of the Huawei–Chery strategic cooperation 2.0 phase, the LUXEED R7 and S7 have been fully upgraded in design, intelligent driving, and comfort. Official data shows that within just one hour of pre-order opening, over 10,000 orders were placed.

In terms of design, both models adopt a new hexagonal shield-shaped logo, replacing the previous letter-based emblem to strengthen brand identity.

A new “Aurora Green” color has been introduced, featuring a triple pearl-particle paint process that creates a flowing gradient effect under light, as seen in official images.

The interiors have also been upgraded. The LUXEED S7 adds a Roland Purple genuine leather steering wheel, and its center console incorporates the Rococo White Condensed Light Mother-of-Pearl inlay used in the Huawei P60 series. The LUXEED R7 debuts a Roland Purple + Apricot dual-tone interior, with automotive-grade Condensed Light Mother-of-Pearl applied to door panels and the center console, enhancing overall ambiance.

For intelligent driving, both models are equipped with Huawei’s ADS 4.0 assisted driving system, featuring a standard 192-line LiDAR (detection range 250 meters), three 4D millimeter-wave radars (with four times higher precision), a newly added rear high-precision solid-state LiDAR (capable of reversing obstacle prediction), and a new “blue light” driving assist indicator—focusing on parking assistance and active safety functions.

In terms of safety, the LUXEED S7 upgrades to the CAS 4.0 all-direction anti-collision system, DSA dynamic steering assist, and blowout stability intervention. Side active avoidance now works at speeds of 40–130 km/h. In addition, exterior microphones are integrated into the side mirrors, enabling voice control and two-way communication inside and outside the car.

In cabin comfort, the LUXEED R7 comes with zero-gravity seats for both driver and passenger, a seat cushion extended by 25mm, a leg rest extended to 342mm, and heating, ventilation, and 10-point massage functions. The LUXEED S7 retains the passenger zero-gravity seat while adding curve suspension pre-adjustment to improve ride smoothness. Both models feature 21 HUAWEI SOUND speakers with 7.1.4 panoramic sound, and 2,080W power output as standard.

From a pricing and configuration perspective, the rear-wheel-drive LUXEED S7 is ¥20,000 ($2,800) cheaper than the previous model with the same configuration. The extended-range version of the LUXEED R7 has improved range to 1,600 km and is priced below competitors such as the Li Auto L7.

The release of these facelifted models is seen as the Zhijie brand’s first major move in its “2.0 phase.”

On August 7, Chery and Huawei signed the “LUXEED Strategic Cooperation 2.0 Agreement,” confirming that the brand is entering a new phase of independent operation. The two parties plan to invest over ¥10 billion ($1.4 billion) and expand the R&D team to 5,000 people. The LUXEED super factory has also begun implementing an automated production system.

Whether LUXEED can use the R7 and S7—both equipped with standard LiDAR and upgraded comfort features—to break through its sales bottleneck in the first half of the year will be a key factor in advancing the 2.0 strategy.
