Xiaomi SU7 L Spotted in Road Tests, Targeting $55,720 Executive Sedan Segment

According to online reports, the Xiaomi SU7 L is positioned as a four-door executive sedan, potentially targeting the Porsche Panamera Executive Edition segment.

Recently, several automotive bloggers shared spy photos on social media of what appears to be the long-wheelbase version of the Xiaomi SU7, the SU7 L.

Compared with the current SU7, the new model is noticeably longer and is expected to enter the RMB 400,000 ($55,720) price range, aiming at the mid-to-high-end executive sedan market.

The spy shots reveal a significantly extended rear section beyond the B-pillar while retaining the fastback silhouette. The rear doors are longer and the tail lines more elongated, giving the side profile a more luxurious proportion.

At the front, the SU7 L continues the SU7 family design, featuring rounded polygonal headlamps and a “Mi-shaped” light housing. The rear is expected to adopt a full-width taillight, a raised ducktail, and an electric spoiler, balancing sportiness and refinement.

In terms of dimensions, the current SU7 measures 4,997mm in length with a 3,000mm wheelbase, while the SU7 L is expected to stretch to around 5.2 meters in length, with a wheelbase extended by 80–150mm. This approach is similar to the relationship between the Porsche Panamera and its executive edition, using targeted extensions to improve rear passenger comfort while controlling development costs.

The lengthening focuses on enhancing rear-seat experience, with legroom and headroom expected to increase by more than 30%, making the vehicle more suitable for family travel and business chauffeuring.

Inside, the SU7 L is expected to retain the tech-focused layout of the current model, including a 7.1-inch flip-up instrument cluster, a 16.1-inch central touchscreen, and a 56-inch HUD, while keeping physical buttons for ease of use.

Online renderings of the vehicle have already circulated.

In November last year, Xiaomi released a pre-research report on its intelligent chassis, outlining four future technologies: fully active suspension, a four-motor system, 48V brake-by-wire, and 48V steer-by-wire. The SU7 L may incorporate some of these technologies as Xiaomi accelerates its push into the high-end market.

Market sources suggest that Xiaomi could soon launch three major models: the SU7 L (internal code MS11-L), YU7 GT (internal code MX11-GT), and a new range-extended model YU9 (internal code Kunlun), with all three advancing toward production.

However, the SU7 L remains in early prototype testing, and the company has not yet confirmed final naming, technical specifications, or launch timing.

In July 2025, Xiaomi Auto delivered over 30,000 vehicles, with the SU7 remaining the main contributor. According to CPCA data, July retail sales of the SU7 reached 24,410 units.
