The official describes the XPeng X9 Super Range-Extender as a “next-generation range-extended product for the global market.”
XPeng Motors today officially announced that the XPeng X9 Super Range-Extender version will officially debut next week.
As the first model under the “Kunpeng Super Electric System”, the new vehicle is positioned as a large seven-seater MPV. It boasts impressive specifications of a 450 km pure electric range and a 1602 km comprehensive range, officially dubbed the “next-generation range-extended product for the global market”.

According to the configuration information already released by XPeng Motors, the XPeng X9 Super Range-Extender version has achieved new breakthroughs in safety, comfort, and range capability.
The most eye-catching aspect is undoubtedly its range capability.
Officials state that the new vehicle can achieve a comprehensive range of 1602 km under CLTC conditions, with a pure electric range reaching 452 km, making it one of the few large seven-seater models currently achieving this technical benchmark. This is credited to the combination of a “63.3 kWh large battery + 60L large fuel tank”.

Compared to the 100-200 km pure electric range capability of other range-extended or plug-in hybrid MPVs on the market, the XPeng X9 Range-Extender version, paired with its 800V platform + 5C ultra-fast charging capability, supports adding 313 km of range in 10 minutes. Its pure electric range is sufficient to meet users’ daily commuting needs.
Regarding vehicle safety, the new model also becomes the world’s first large seven-seater featuring zero-gravity seats with integrated airbags. The ABTS+PLP dual pre-tensioning force-limiting seatbelts are integrated into the seats. Compared to traditional B-pillar mounting, this design can better reduce force on the chest, abdomen, lumbar spine, and other areas, minimizing injury.

Additionally, new features include anti-submarine airbags in the seat cushions + PLP dual pre-tensioning force-limiting seatbelts + 68L large side curtain airbags + a seat cushion collapse energy absorption mechanism design, providing comprehensive protection for occupants.
For comfort features, the XPeng X9 Super Range-Extender version will be the first to feature a 27-speaker “Lingjing AI Audio System”. Using a 7.1.6 channel panoramic sound layout, it can achieve a 360° immersive effect.

Before its official debut, the XPeng X9 Super Range-Extender version has already completed rigorous global road tests, covering 20 countries and 330 cities in total.
Official data claims that in China’s Turpan Flame Mountain, where surface temperatures reach approximately 70°C, the new XPeng X9 successfully passed multiple tests including high-temperature charging, high-temperature air conditioning cooling, and high-temperature dynamic limit tests.
Test results showed that in extreme high-temperature environments, the vehicle’s 0-100 km/h acceleration remained stable, with linear power output; after exposure to high temperatures, the rapid cooling system could lower the cabin temperature from 60°C to 28°C within 10 minutes.
Official pricing information for the new vehicle has not yet been disclosed. For reference, the starting price of the X9 pure electric version is 359,800 yuan; the price of the range-extender version is expected to be potentially lower.
