XPeng will introduce seven “dual-energy” models with super range-extender configurations in 2026, targeting all major market segments.
Recently, XPeng Motors issued a “Supply Capacity Assurance Notice for the XPeng X9 Extended-Range Edition” to its supply chain, urgently requesting an additional 5,000 sets of materials be prepared before the end of this year.
According to a key supply chain source, this move is in response to strong order demand following the new model’s launch, ensuring that the delivery schedule remains unaffected.

On November 20, the XPeng X9 Extended-Range Edition officially launched with a starting price of 309,800 yuan.
The new vehicle is equipped with a 1.5T range-extender system, paired with a large 63.3 kWh battery pack and a 60-liter fuel tank. It offers a CLTC pure electric range of 452 km and a comprehensive range of up to 1,602 km. Additionally, the 800V high-voltage platform supports 5C ultra-fast charging, enabling a 306 km range replenishment in just 10 minutes.
Market response has far exceeded expectations since its launch. Official data shows that within just one hour of its release, firm orders for the XPeng X9 Extended-Range Edition surpassed the previous single-day order record for the X9 model series.

Notably, unlike the typically weaker sales of new energy vehicles in colder regions, orders from northern China accounted for over 50% for the first time. In terms of variant preference, the 1602 Ultra version, priced at 329,800 yuan, is more popular, making up 79% of total sales.
As of this writing, the ordering page on the XPeng Motors app shows that the delivery lead time for the XPeng X9 Extended-Range Max version has been extended to 4–6 weeks, and for the Ultra version to 5–7 weeks.
Industry analysts point out that XPeng’s rapid production expansion reflects strong expectations for the X9 Extended-Range’s market performance and a further reinforcement of its year-end delivery capabilities.

It is also worth mentioning that, the day after the new model’s launch, XPeng Motors officially celebrated the rollout of its 1 millionth vehicle. The company took only 14 months to produce its second 500,000 vehicles.
Furthermore, XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng revealed that in 2026, XPeng will launch seven new models featuring the super range-extender configuration, adopting a “dual-energy capability per vehicle” strategy to comprehensively cover different market segments.
Among these, three super range-extender models will debut in the first quarter of 2026. Subsequently, four new models with the dual-energy capability will be released, including the first product in an important segment.
