XPeng Unveils G7 EREV with 1,704 km Range, Launch Set for Q1 2026

Xpeng G7 EREV delivers a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 430 km and a combined range of 1,704 km.

On Dec. 30, XPeng officially announced the G7 Super Range-Extended version, marking its third EREV following the X9 and P7+. The new model is scheduled to enter the market in the first quarter of 2026.

From a technical perspective, the core selling points of the XPeng G7 EREV center on driving range and charging efficiency.

The vehicle is equipped with a 55.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by EVE Energy, delivering a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 430 km, positioning it at the upper end of the current range-extended SUV segment.

By comparison, the Aito M7 EREV and Li Auto L6 offer CLTC pure electric ranges of 230 km and 212 km, respectively.

In terms of the range-extension system, the XPeng G7 adopts a 1.5T range extender from Dong’an Power and is paired with a 60-liter fuel tank.

This configuration gives the vehicle a combined range of 1,704 km, which XPeng claims is the longest total driving range among SUVs globally.

According to the company, the model has passed China Automotive Technology and Research Center’s reverse range validation, with real-world testing showing a combined range of 1,768 km.

On the energy replenishment side, the XPeng G7 EREV is built on an 800V high-voltage platform and supports 5C ultra-fast charging. Under suitable conditions, the vehicle can add 314 km of range in just 12 minutes.

In terms of driving experience, XPeng emphasizes the quietness of the range-extension system.

The vehicle comes standard with ENC and RNC dual active noise reduction and introduces AI-based management logic for the range extender.

Sound-absorbing materials cover more than 90% of key areas, delivering a driving feel closer to that of a BEV.

At the product level, the G7 EREV had already appeared in regulatory filings with China’s MIIT in Sept.

It measures at 4918/1925/1655 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm, slightly larger than the BEV version.

XPeng also unveiled G7 EREV’s new exterior color, dubbed “Stellar Dusk Purple,” and confirmed features including a full-width integrated light strip, 20-inch wheels, a Power X-exclusive rear badge, and a zero-gravity passenger seat.

From a market standpoint, the XPeng G7 BEV is currently priced between RMB 195,800 and RMB 225,800 ($27,400–$31,600).

Benefiting from optimized battery costs, the starting price of the EREV version is expected to drop to around RMB 170,000 level ($23,800), placing it directly into the mainstream competitive bracket occupied by models such as the Avatr 07 EREV and Shangjie H5 EREV.

In terms of product cadence, the G7 EREV represents part of a broader phased strategy. At the Munich Motor Show in Germany earlier this year, XPeng Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said that most future XPeng models would adopt a dual-power approach, offering both BEV and EREV variants for global markets.

Data show that XPeng delivered 36,728 vehicles in November. Of these, the G7 recorded deliveries of 2,569 units, down 25.9% month on month.

As competition in the pure electric segment intensifies, XPeng is clearly looking to the range-extended route to restore market flexibility and expand sales potential for the G7.

Too many Chinese EV car brands are exported to Australia, but good quality Extended range ev cars are very few. I believe that if Xpeng g7 erev were exported to Australia, it will be much more popular tha g6 and g7.

Australia charging stations is relatively few, and take long time to charge. EV are merely used in city circles, and can’t leave home frequently

I am looking for one for travelling on highway for 500KM with air-condition running to working in mining site, it is hard to find suitable one
