SAIC MG reports MG 07 firm orders surpassing 31K; the model hit market Aug. 21 at Chengdu Auto Show.
The B-segment sports sedan offers two powertrains: BEV, PHEV; features 7 variants. Limited-time prices range from RMB 105.9K ($15.8K) to RMB 156.9K ($23.3K).
The MG 07 sports a fastback design; measures 4,886mm long, 1,900mm wide, 1,485mm tall; spans a 2,825mm wheelbase. Styling leans young, sporty; proportions resemble popular NEV sedans like Xiaomi SU7.
Hardware also drives order growth. The car offers up to 845km pure electric range; long-range version packs a 91kWh CATL ternary lithium battery; supports 800V high-voltage platform plus 5C fast charging. For ADAS, the MG 07 uses Momenta R7.
An 800V setup with 5C charging, 91kWh battery, Momenta ADAS all sit in a RMB 150K ($22.3K) sedan; this becomes a key selling point versus traditional rivals.
More importantly, MG 07 builds on MG4’s momentum.
SAIC MG launched the MG4 in Aug. 2025, positioning it as the core NEV transition model. Over the past year, the MG4 became the core source of MG’s NEV sales. First-half 2026 deliveries surpassed 70K; August sales for the MG4 lineup (including MG4X) exceeded 17K units, bringing cumulative deliveries to 150K one year after launch.
MG4’s success gave MG 07 a proven formula: youthful design, strong powertrain tech, affordable pricing.
However, MG NEV previously had structural issues. Jan-Jul NEV sales hit 92,428 units; MG4 contributed 83,910 units; nearly 90% share. MG NEV relied heavily on a single model.
MG 07’s fast surge could become MG’s next NEV growth curve; changing that situation.
