Positioned as a large six-seat plug-in hybrid SUV, the Denza N8L targets rivals like the AITO M8.
A set of uncamouflaged images of the Denza N8L has recently surfaced online.
Positioned as a large, three-row plug-in hybrid SUV, the Denza N8L adopts a 6-seat layout and is expected to be priced under RMB 400,000 ($55,200). Official launch is slated for August, and it will go head-to-head with models such as the Li Auto L8, AITO M8, and Wey Lanshan.
The leak of uncamouflaged real-vehicle images suggests the official debut is fast approaching.

In late May this year, the Denza N8L appeared in the 395th batch of Announcement on On-road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
According to the filing, the Denza N8L measures 5200×1999×1820mm (L×W×H), with a wheelbase of 3075mm—significantly larger than the current Denza N8 (4949×1950×1725mm, wheelbase 2830mm).

Based on the MIIT images and official teaser, the Denza N8L carries the same design language as Denza’s flagship models like the Z9 and N9. Design-wise, it differs from the N9 by using split headlamps for a more sculpted front fascia, simpler side-panel lines, and a slightly downsized taillight cluster.
In terms of power and range, the N8L will feature BYD’s e3 technology, comprising a 2.0T engine paired with a 200kW front motor and dual 240kW rear motors, delivering a combined output of 925 horsepower. It’s matched with a 46.992kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery, giving a CLTC-rated all-electric range of 170 km (106 miles); the drone-equipped version offers 160 km (99 miles) due to added weight.
On the intelligent features front, the N8L is expected to inherit the flagship-level “God’s Eye B” advanced driver assistance system from the Denza N9.

As a key model for Denza’s push into the premium market, the N8L combines full-size SUV dimensions, a triple-motor setup, and a unique drone option to penetrate the hyper-competitive RMB 400,000 ($56,000)-level hybrid SUV segment. Key rivals in this range include the Li Auto L9 (from RMB 321,800, $44,400) and AITO M8 (from RMB 359,800, $49,600), posing challenges in brand perception and consumer awareness.
Compared with competitors, the N8L’s core strengths lie in its family-oriented positioning and the democratization of BYD’s in-house technologies like DiSus-A suspension, e3 technology, and the “God’s Eye” ADAS. If the final pricing meets expectations, the N8L could become Denza’s next growth engine.
