NIO Inc. will initially launch representative models from its three brands—NIO, ONVO, and Firefly—in these three markets.
On August 18, NIO Inc. announced plans to enter the markets of Singapore, Uzbekistan, and Costa Rica between 2025 and 2026, continuing its global expansion strategy.
In Singapore, NIO Inc. will partner with Wearnes Automotive. Founded in 1906, Wearnes is a premium automotive group with long-standing experience representing multiple luxury passenger car brands across the Asia-Pacific region. The two companies plan to launch NIO Inc.’s first right-hand-drive model, the Firefly, in Singapore starting in 2026.

In Costa Rica, NIO Inc. will collaborate with local EV dealer Horizontes Cielo Azul Movilidad, which has previously supported the market entry of several Chinese automotive brands. NIO Inc. plans to introduce the EL8 (ES8 in China), EL6 (ES6 in China), ET5 Touring (ET5T in China), L60, and the Firefly. This will mark NIO’s first entry into the Americas.
In Uzbekistan, NIO Inc. will work with Abu Sahiy Motors, a company engaged in automotive sales, logistics, and real estate. The brand plans to bring the EL8 (ES8 in China), EL6 (ES6 in China), ET5, ET5 Touring (ET5T in China), and L60 to the market, marking NIO Inc.’s first entry into Central Asia.

Notably, local consumer acceptance of Chinese new energy vehicle brands is increasing. Currently, brands such as BYD, Chery, and Li Auto have captured approximately 10% of Uzbekistan’s EV market.
Previously, NIO Inc.’s brands officially launched in European countries, including Norway, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden. On August 14, the Firefly began deliveries in Norway and the Netherlands.
With the upcoming expansion into Singapore, Uzbekistan, and Costa Rica, NIO Inc. is set to further broaden its international market footprint.
