BYD has entered more than 70 countries and regions across six continents and has established factories in places like Hungary and Brazil.
Recently, BYD officially delivered its 100,000th new energy vehicle in the Thai market, with the model being the BYD SEAL 06 DM-i.
Korn Thapparangsi, President of the Thai-Chinese Friendship Association, stated that the reason for choosing the BYD SEAL 06 DM-i is that this SUV serves as the official vehicle for the “Friendship Fleet Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Thailand-China Diplomatic Relations.”

Additionally, this model is one of the vehicles locally produced at BYD’s Thailand factory.
The BYD Thailand factory was officially completed in July 2024, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles. It is BYD’s first wholly-owned passenger vehicle factory built overseas. Currently, the models produced there include the ATTO 3, Song PLUS, Dolphin, and several others.
This factory not only meets local demand in Thailand but also serves the entire ASEAN region and right-hand drive markets like Australia, becoming a crucial pillar of BYD’s “factory globalization” strategy.

During the delivery ceremony, BYD also presented the BYD Kunlun Award to outstanding dealers and sales personnel. The company mentioned that one salesperson achieved a record of selling 1,200 units in Thailand.
From a broader market perspective, BYD’s new energy models have repeatedly set delivery records in the Thai market.
Data shows that in April 2025, BYD ranked second in the Thai passenger vehicle market with 2,797 units sold, capturing a 15.6% market share. In July 2025, BYD achieved the delivery of its 90,000th new energy vehicle in Thailand. In the first half of 2025, BYD led the Thai electric vehicle market with 19,572 units sold, and the Dolphin model became the best-selling pure electric vehicle during the same period with 7,308 units sold.
These achievements are closely related to BYD’s commitment to deepening localization.
Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, revealed that the BYD Thailand factory hired over 6,100 Thai employees within a year, with locals accounting for 90% of the workforce. The localization rate for core components has reached 40%.

To date, BYD has entered more than 70 countries and regions across six continents and has established factories in places like Hungary and Brazil, driving the transition from “product export” to “brand global expansion.”
