- SAIC’s MG 07 opens pre-sales at RMB 125.9K–165.9K, targeting 150K RMB sport‑EV buyers.
- Top MG 07 trim offers 845km range with 91kWh CATL battery, 800V platform and 5C ultra‑fast charging.
- Momenta R7 AI driving, Snapdragon 8295P cockpit and strong early orders aim to extend MG4’s momentum.
SAIC’s MG 07 officially opened pre-sales on July 29, with five variants priced between RMB 125.9K ($18.6K) and RMB 165.9K ($24.5K).
The model adopts a fastback coupe-style design, measuring 4,886mm in length, 1,900mm in width and 1,485mm in height, with a 2,825mm wheelbase. It is positioned as a B-segment pure electric sedan.

Compared with the compact pure electric MG4, which was previously focused on the global market, MG 07 further enters the 150K RMB mainstream pure electric sport sedan segment, targeting young consumers and smart EV users.
In terms of core specifications, MG 07 offers two battery options. The 610km and 650km range variants use SAIC QingTao’s 67kWh lithium manganese iron phosphate battery. The 845km range version adopts a 91kWh ternary lithium battery supplied by CATL, supporting an 800V high-voltage platform and 5C ultra-fast charging technology.
According to SAIC MG’s plan, lower-range versions will begin deliveries in late August. The 845km version is expected to start deliveries in early October.
For intelligent driving, the new model integrates Momenta’s R7 World Model with the Xheart X7 dedicated AI computing chip, supporting advanced driver assistance functions.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P cockpit chip, a 15.6-inch 2.5K floating central display and MG’s latest intelligent cockpit system. The system supports smartphone connectivity and AI voice interaction. The front passenger seat also offers a zero-gravity mode.
At this price point, the main competing models include the XPeng MONA M03 and the upcoming BYD Qin MAX, both targeting younger buyers.
Compared with traditional 150K RMB pure electric sedans, MG 07’s combination of 800V, 5C fast charging, CATL’s 91kWh ternary lithium battery and Momenta R7 intelligent driving system is relatively uncommon among similarly priced models, creating strong product differentiation.
At the same time, MG 07 could also attract some younger consumers who are interested in Xiaomi SU7 or SAIC Z7 but have tighter budgets.

In terms of market feedback, SAIC MG General Manager Chen Cui said MG 07 received more small orders within 50 minutes after opening reservations than MG4 achieved in its first three hours of reservation. He added that the company is not concerned about sales volume at this stage, with production capacity ramp-up becoming the key factor to watch.
This performance continues the new energy momentum brought by MG4. In August 2025, SAIC MG launched the MG4 pure electric model, marking a key step in the brand’s electrification push. Data shows that in the first half of 2026, MG4 cumulative deliveries exceeded 70K units, becoming the core contributor to MG’s new energy sales.

After MG4 established a foothold in the EV market, MG further launched the MG4 X. Currently, the model recorded around 4K deliveries in its first month, still in an early ramp-up stage.
At the brand level, MG sold 18,421 new energy vehicles in June. MG4 accounted for 14,397 units. Over the past year, MG’s EV lineup has long relied on MG4 as its single sales pillar.
Based on its product specs and current pre-sale order performance, MG 07 is expected to extend the momentum of MG4, helping SAIC MG break away from its current reliance on a single model and form a new growth curve.
