Xiaomi YU7 Interior Revealed, All Eyes on the “HyperVision Display”

Tomorrow evening, Xiaomi will hold its highly anticipated strategic product launch event. For the automotive world, the biggest highlight is undoubtedly the official debut of Xiaomi’s first all-electric SUV — the YU7.

To be honest, the momentum for this car has been well-prepared. Starting from the preheating of the “Gem Green” color scheme and the gradual release of interior details over the past two days, Xiaomi has clearly been methodically raising market sentiment step by step. Each release of content is not much, but always hits the spot and keeps people on the edge of their seats.

The latest interior video released today offers the most information to date. The key highlight is the panoramic display system called Xiaomi HyperVision, which is far from a conventional curved screen. According to our sources, it uses projection technology and can essentially be understood as a type of HUD.

However, Xiaomi has chosen not to label it as a traditional HUD. Instead, they’ve introduced a new term to define this system. Based on the footage, the projection spans the entire lower edge of the windshield — stretching from the driver’s side A-pillar all the way to the passenger side. Key information appears to “float” directly within the driver’s line of sight, covering a wider area and creating a much stronger visual impact.

We speculate that core information including speed, battery level, ADAS data, and even navigation could be displayed here, allowing drivers to access critical data without shifting their focus from the road – a concept similar to BMW’s upcoming PHUD imaging technology.

Beyond the HyperVision display, the YU7’s interior also features several distinctive design elements. The center console adopts a T-shaped wraparound layout. The steering wheel continues the design language of the SU7 Ultra but with some refinements — the alignment marker is now a metallic ring, and the signature control buttons on both sides are retained, giving a familiar yet refreshed feel.

Even before its official launch, the YU7 has already secured its place as a trending topic — a potential blockbuster in the making. The SU7 has proven Xiaomi’s strong market appeal in the EV space, and the YU7 could very well extend that success from sedans to the SUV segment.

As for whether it can truly challenge the Tesla Model Y, that question may finally be answered after tomorrow’s launch.
