In this round of testing, four Chinese brand models – the Lynk & Co 02, Chery OMODA 9, Zeekr 7X, and Polestar 4 – have all secured the prestigious five-star safety rating.
On July 9, the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) released the results of its latest round of safety tests. Four Chinese brand models – the Lynk & Co 02, Chery OMODA 9, Zeekr 7X, and Polestar 4 – achieved the top five-star safety rating. Among them, models under the Geely Group performed particularly well.

Zeekr 7X

The test results indicated that occupants of different sizes and sitting postures all received a high level of protection in the Zeekr 7X.
Specifically, the Zeekr 7X demonstrated stable performance across all four key assessment categories: Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Vulnerable Road User (VRU, Pedestrian) Protection, and Safety Assist. Notably, it achieved a perfect score in the side barrier test and the more severe side pole impact test, providing good protection to critical body areas for all occupants. Additionally, the Zeekr 7X is equipped with an advanced eCall system that automatically alerts emergency services in the event of a collision.
Since entering the European market in 2023, Zeekr has rapidly expanded its presence in countries like the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden. In May of this year, the Zeekr 7X officially launched in Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden. This five-star achievement is expected to further strengthen its credibility in Europe’s premium pure-electric vehicle market.
Lynk & Co 02

The Lynk & Co 02, known as the Lynk & Co Z20 in Chinese mainland, was launched in Milan, Italy, last October with a starting price of €35,495.
In this round of testing, the Lynk & Co 02 also earned a five-star rating. The model comes standard with a Driver Fatigue Monitoring System and Seat Belt Reminders for both front and rear seats. ItsAutomatic Emergency Braking (AEB) function performed excellently in reaction tests, contributing to a high score of 89% in the Safety Assist category.
Lynk & Co, a global brand co-founded by Geely and Volvo, has been promoting a “subscription-based mobility” model in Europe since 2020, focusing on Western European markets like Sweden and the Netherlands, primarily targeting urban youth. According to data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), Lynk & Co 01 registrations reached 2,554 units and Lynk & Co 02 registrations were 359 units in Europe during January-May 2025.
Polestar 4

The Polestar 4 also performed excellently in structural safety and active safety projects, successfully securing a five-star rating.
It scored an impressive 92% in the highly regarded Adult Occupant Protection category, placing it among the top performers in this test round. Particularly in Child Occupant Protection, the Polestar 4 provided good protection for the head, chest, and legs of both 6-year-old and 10-year-old dummies, achieving a high score of 85% in this section.
For VRU (Pedestrian) Protection, the Polestar 4 scored 81%. Its bonnet (hood) and bumper areas offered adequate protection for a pedestrian’s head and lower limbs. The model’s AEB system also proved effective in recognizing and responding to pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
Official data shows that Geely Auto’s overseas export sales exceeded 180,000 units in the first half of this year. Currently, the overseas expansion of Geely’s three main brands – Geely, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr – is progressing well.
In terms of its overseas strategy, Geely Auto relies on a multi-brand, multi-track approach. The Geely Galaxy EX5 is already available in 26 countries worldwide. The Lynk & Co brand is accelerating its presence in emerging markets, launching pre-sales for the Lynk & Co 03 and 09 models in Kazakhstan this year. Meanwhile, in the European market, its retail operations have achieved phased results and are gradually gaining recognition among local consumers.
