The new M7 features significant exterior updates and offers both EREV and BEV versions, with an official launch scheduled for September.
On July 28, Richard Yu, Executive Director of Huawei and Chairman of Terminal BG, released official images of the new AITO M7 on Weibo, teasing it as “a completely new product inside and out.”

The model debuts an exclusive “Coral Red” color scheme and will offer both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options. Scheduled to launch in September, it aims to compete head-to-head in the highly competitive RMB 300,000 ($42,000) family SUV segment.
From the official images, the new M7 features a significant exterior redesign compared with the current version. It adopts the family design language seen on the M8 and M9, with a sharper and more aggressive front fascia featuring a closed grille paired with sleek headlights.
Other updates include semi-recessed door handles, chrome trim, and a new through-type taillight cluster. The rear also debuts the “AITO” wordmark, earning it the nickname “Mini M8” among users. Additionally, a roof-mounted 192-line LiDAR enhances its intelligent driving capabilities.

Under the hood, the new M7 adds a 53 kWh battery with support for 800V high-voltage fast charging. The pure electric range of the range-extended version is expected to exceed 300 km (up from 240 km), with a total combined range of 1,500 km.
The AITO M7 once set a monthly sales record of 17,940 units in September 2024 but has seen a downturn in 2025, with June sales dropping to 5,411 units, representing just 12.11% of AITO’s monthly total. First-half sales in 2025 reached 30,875 units, down 84.03% year-on-year.

Pricing will be critical to the new M7’s market comeback. Industry estimates suggest a main price range of RMB 250,000–300,000 ($35,000–42,000), with top trims potentially reaching RMB 350,000 ($49,000).
Facing strong competition from Xiaomi YU7, Tesla Model Y, and Li Auto L6, the new M7 is expected to leverage technologies from the M8/M9 and the strong user base of the previous model (200,000 annual sales). Analysts predict monthly sales could surpass 20,000 units, making it a new hit in the RMB 300,000 ($42,000) SUV segment.

With the new M7 entering the market, it will join the M9 (the RMB 500,000 / $70,000 segment leader) and M8 (the RMB 400,000 / $56,000 segment leader) to create a comprehensive product matrix covering the RMB 250,000–500,000 ($35,000–70,000) range. Whether the redesigned and tech-upgraded AITO M7 can solidify its leadership in the RMB 300,000 ($42,000) SUV segment will hinge on its final pricing strategy and early customer feedback after the official launch in September.
